Congratulations to Katie McGuinness and Lauren McCaul who represented St. Mary’s in the Newry and Mourne Soroptimist Public Speaking Competition. Both girls presented highly emotive and sophisticated speeches on the topic ‘Domestic Violence – Silence is its greatest friend.” The girls were praised for their confident deliveries, their knowledge and mature language. Katie received ‘Highly Commended’ and Lauren was placed first. Lauren will now go on to represent Newry and Mourne in the Northern Ireland Final in February. A massive well done to both pupils.
