On Friday 18th October, to celebrate Book Week NI, we were delighted to receive a visit from our Patron of Reading, Mrs Pauline Burgess. Pauline delivered workshops to all Year 9 pupils who are currently reading her novel ‘Who Do You Think You Are?’. The pupils were given a glimpse into the writing process and how Pauline creates her characters. Pauline shared with them her own journey as a young girl growing up in Co. Down and her journey as a writer, teacher and published author. All year 9 English classes are thoroughly enjoying her writing and this was clear through the many thought-provoking and insightful questions they asked. We are already planning and looking forward to Pauline’s next visit!
