On Friday 14th June, St. Mary’s held an event to announce and introduce our new Patron of Reading, Mrs Pauline Burgess. Mrs Burgess is a locally published author, who writes books for children and young adults. Her novels are refreshing, uplifting and thought provoking. Her most recent novel, Who Do You Think You Are? was the focus of a workshop held during Literacy Week and will be studied by our pupils in the upcoming academic year. Through her role, Mrs Burgess will work closely with St. Mary’s pupils, to promote reading for pleasure and to encourage and develop a love of Literature.
