Accompanied by Mrs Cosgrove and Mrs Haughey, our GLAMS squad (Girls Leadership and Marketing in Sport) attended an “Inspiration Day” at Craigavon leisure centre, which was hosted by Girls Active.
Also pictured is Inline skating World Champion Jenna Downing who the girls had the privilege of meeting. They also had the opportunity to listen to her inspirational story which drove her to success.
The girls were involved in multiple workshops and also physical activity sessions in dance, boxercise and ultimate frisbee. The purpose of these workshops are to give these young ladies the right skills and confidence levels to return to school and motivate their peers to lead healthy active lifestyles. The girls will also be working on new initiatives to increase participation rates in sport and physical activity for young women.
We are really looking forward to the GLAMS squad fresh ideas for the sporting life of St Mary’s.
