Soroptomist Public Speaking Competition

On Wednesday 20th November four of our pupils took part in the annual Soroptimist Public Speaking Competition, in the Arts Centre. Katie Sands, Dana Meehan and Chloe Smith all Year 12 pupils and Courtney McEvoy, a year 13 pupil, presented incredibly strong, passionate and well informed speeches to a panel of judges. The girls spoke at length on a range of subjects, from the thought provoking title ‘Real wealth is never measured in money or possessions’ to the very relevant topic ‘How do we tackle the plastic issue?’. The girls were applauded for the articulate and mature speeches.

Well done to all for taking part and a special congratulations to Courtney who was placed second in the competition.
